JOURNALS EVERYWHERE

Sat Mar 7, 2009, 3:08 PM
Yeah just trying to get my birthday journal off the page, so lemme just talk about how it went.

My birthday is rarely a big deal anymore (in my opinion), it's really just another day to me, although I DID get to go out and do stuff with my mother, she took me out to dinner at Bob Evans and I had some chicken parmesan which I love and some of their lemon supreme pie which kicks nine kinds of ass, and then we went over to Borders. I wanted to head there to check to see what kind of manga and such they had as well as just look around at all the lovely lovely books which I love so. While I was there there was an older gentleman standing around the entrance to the bathrooms playing a little guitar, and he was playing a really catchy tune and I kinda liked it, like a lot, so I ended up lingering in the DVD area while looking to see if I could locate some anime nonsense or anything interesting just listening to him. Right before I was about to head off somewhere else though, he stopped and was going to walk off, so I decided to clap for him to get his attention and let him know I liked his song, and we ended up getting into a conversation. Turns out his name is John and he works for NASA or something but he plays music as a hobby, and we had a good talk on the various forms of art and how it intersects our lives in so many ways, it was pretty cool. I should do a line break this is getting kinda ridiculous.

Ahh, much better. Anyway once I parted ways with him my Borders trip was pretty uneventful, I just looked to see if I could find the Desert Punk manga (totally couldn't, not even sure if there is one although I assume there is), but I DID manage to find a manga series reccommended to me by :iconmadamluna:, and that is Sand Land, which is done by Akira Toriyama and is set in a desert so she thought I'd like it. And it was less than 8 bucks for like 14 chapters of manga all in one book so I was like "Hey, what a deal huh" so I decided to go ahead and get it for myself to see how I liked it, and when I went to the counter with mom, she surprised me by putting her magazines up with my stuff and paid for the whole thing herself, so that was kind of a nice little gift, that manga, which was nice.

After that we went to Best Buy because I got a Best Buy gift card back on Christmas and never got a chance to use it. Well, I went there looking for something in particular and boy did I find it - the entire COMPLETE series of Desert Punk on six DVDs for less than 40 bucks, not bad at all. I also managed to pick up the 3rd Lucky Star DVD because there wasn't much else I saw that I wanted and I wanted to get all the gift card nonsense done in one fell swoop.

So yeah, that was a long story to tell when I honestly didn't do shit, but I dunno, I guess I'm just not an exciting person at the moment. Sorry.

Not by anyone other than myself. I just feel DA isn't the place for that particular story.

Hey, you have some great stories here, I like to think similar to my own. I'm a tickle story writer - type person as well and I would really appreciate if you could spare the time to have a look at some of my stories.

Thanks, anyway feedback would be greatly appreciated, I like to think that I tried to get my stories as lenghtly and detailed as yours, you have great work.

BTW Merry Christmas! And a Happy new Year.
